Hard work delivers the results. Paying back for the years of service and enjoyment these trails have given…
In every destination we ride we take trail sustainability seriously, and that starts here, on our home trails in the Scottish Highlands.
Without great trails we can’t have great riding so we have been working hard over the years to create and maintain our trail networks. Everywhere we ride with you we make sure that our team is instrumental in creating, fixing and generally looking after the wellbeing of our trails, paying back…
On our home turf in the Highlands of Scotland, we have formalised our commitment to trail sustainability by making trail maintenance part of the job description of operations specialist Matt Lowell. Matt will be working with our guide team in Scotland to assess the trails we lead riders on throughout the season on our Highland adventures.
Then, in collaboration with our guide team, the local MTB community and trail associations, he works out a programme of work to repair trail damage during autumn and winter months, paying back to the trails that we’ve enjoyed riding all summer.
From the Cairngorms in the east, to the Cuillin mountains of Skye in the west, Matt and the team will be taking care of our trails across the Highlands. They’ll repair erosion, clear out water bars and fill holes as required to keep the trails in the best shape for all trail users.
As part of our wider, international community of mountain bike guides, Matt will network with his colleagues around the world to share knowledge and experience of maintaining the spectacular trails that we have the privilege of riding across the globe.
In bringing riders to our favourite trails, we must also be responsible for the upkeep of these trails to ensure they remain in good shape for everyone to enjoy for years to come.
