Share itinerary

Does size matter? If the answer for you is ‘yes!’, and you dream of mountain biking in BIG mountains, we have a few adventures that will be right up your street!

There’s something special about high mountains. They make us feel small, keep us grounded, and remind us of the power of Mother Nature. Their scale has an almost irresistible attraction, drawing us in and daring us to explore the unknown.

We’ve crafted a diverse suite of MTB and E-MTB adventures in the most iconic mountain ranges of North and South America, Europe, and Asia, for those of you who love ‘getting high’! Check out the selection below for inspiration for your next big adventure…

HIMALAYAN HIGHS

They don’t come any bigger than the Himalayas, and we have not one, but two unforgettable mountain bike adventures in the mother of all mountain ranges.

Pedalling, pushing and carrying your bike to a top height of more than 4,000m/ 13,000ft in Nepal or Bhutan is a massive effort, but the sense of achievement and sensational descents make it all worthwhile.

Take a look at our MTB adventures in Nepal and Bhutan, and start planning your ride on the roof of the world!

NEPAL

“Trip-of-a-lifetime” is an overused phrase these days, however it’s how most of our riders inevitably describe their experience of mountain biking in Nepal.

From the lush valleys and bustling villages of the Kathmandu Valley, to the immense and arid mountainscape of Lower Mustang, every step of this journey is filled with adventure.

You’ll share tea with a local farmer on his rooftop in Mustang, soak up the buzz of Kathmandu city, and tackle suspension bridges that criss-cross the Kali Gandaki valley, the deepest in the world.

BHUTAN

Where better to embark on a journey of self-discovery than a country that measures progress in terms of happiness? Welcome to Bhutan.

Hike your bike to the top of the trails, then take on descents of up to 30km in lush green valleys, and along prayer flag-lined singletrack.

You’ll ride breathtaking ridgelines, surrounded by snow-capped peaks, and immerse yourself in the unique culture of Bhutan visiting monasteries and temples.

ANDES (AND VOLCANOES) OF ECUADOR

The Andes dominate in South America and on our incredible adventure in Ecuador they will accompany you as you ride through the most diverse eco-systems imaginable – and always at altitude!

From the word ‘go’, as you arrive in Quito to start your adventure, you’re already at 2,850m/ 9,350ft above sea level, and surrounded on all sides by mountains and volcanoes.

Ecuador offers more than just mountains, and you’ll experience riding through Andean deserts, on the slopes of Cotopaxi volcano, through lush cloud forest and banana plantations, and urban riding in Parque Metropolitano. It’s a feast for the senses!

MONUMENTAL DOLOMITES

For a sense of really riding ‘in’ big mountains, the Italian Dolomites are hard to beat. This unique landscape is like a clash of Torres del Paine and the Alps, where towering peaks meeting lush alpine meadows as you descend the incredible singletrack that spans the valleys.

From your base in Val di Fassa, your local guide will share his favourite trails, and the best lines, as well as his two-day,  ‘alternative’ Sella Ronda adventure, with more than 7,000m of descending!

It is Italy, so you can count on delicious local food and drink, and the warmest of welcomes from your hotel hosts.

TRAVERSING THE SWISS ALPS

The Alps of Switzerland are the quintessential ‘pointy mountains’ and hold a special place in our heart. Since we first started riding mountain bikes in the beautiful Graubünden region of south-eastern Switzerland, it’s now possible to experience the thrill of the big mountains by E-MTB. And that’s exactly what many people are doing!

This point-to-point E-MTB adventure traverses the Swiss Alps, using the power of your e-mountain biking in partnership with the trains, gondolas and shuttles of the seamless Swiss transport system to access the most fabulous trails.

Speaking of trails… it’s Switzerland, so you can take for granted that they will be well cared for. You’ll ride some technical singletrack climbs; rooty singletrack through forests; rocky descents with switchbacks; and end the week on the grin-inducing flow trails above St. Moritz. E-MTB bliss!

BC: COASTLINE TO ALPINE

British Columbia is blessed with beautiful mountains running from the Coast Mountains on the east, through the Columbia range and on to the Rocky Mountains in the west. On this MTB adventure in BC, we’ll take you on a journey from coast to alpine, during which you’ll be surrounded by beautiful peaks at every turn.

You’ll ride through a huge diversity of eco-systems, from coastal singletrack, to temperate rainforest, up to high alpine peaks.

Our expert guides have crafted this tour to take you beyond the bike park and into the backcountry trails of BC. More than that, they’ll introduce you to the rich tapestry of cultures that make up this part of Canada, as you ride through five different First Nations communities along the way.
