The Yeti Tribe Gathering comes to H+I’s back yard in the Scottish Highlands.
The 4th International Yeti Tribe Gathering Scotland
Having traveled quite literally to the other side of the world for the last International Yeti Tribe Gathering it seemed quite odd to be able to roll out of my own bed and drive less than twenty minutes down the road to be reunited with the Yeti crew on home soil. Now in its fourth year it was time for the H+I Adventures team to host the International Yeti Tribe Gathering in their own backyard; the rugged wilderness of the Scottish Highlands.
I’d spent a fair chunk of time over the past few years exploring the trails and landscapes of the west coast, it always seems to trigger a child like sense of adventure in me that keeps luring me back. I can vividly remember my first time venturing into the “wild west” on the narrow winding roads, passing through deep glens and glacier scoured mountains before hitting the remote fishing villages on the coast where clusters of weathered islands are battered by the Atlantic swells. As the rest of the Tribe was about to discover in the coming week, the riding is more than a match for the dramatic vistas and let’s just say “changeable” weather…
Having started in the Highland capital of Inverness we’d snaked south via the pine forests and rolling hills of Laggan, then hit the Lord of the Rings-esque Glen Coe and Kinlochleven, before heading west true and proper where things really begin to kick off…
