Mountain bike tour British Columbia Itinerary

The flow of your mountain bike tour British Columbia has been designed to become progressively more technical throughout the course of the week. Your guides will coach you through each new challenge so that you make the most of your BC experience and go home a more technically skilled and confident mountain biker.

+Arrival in Canada - refresh + prepare for your adventure

If you’re travelling a long way or across several time zones to Canada then we recommend arriving in Vancouver a day or two early to allow your body to adjust and to make sure any flight or luggage delays don’t spoil your trip.
+Day 1 - Arrival + Sea to Sky

Your local mountain bike guide will meet you early in the morning in Vancouver, load up the vans with your luggage and bikes, then we’ll enjoy the beautiful drive along the coast to Squamish.

Here we’ll get bikes built and set up, and enjoy a picnic style lunch while your guides go over the tour briefing.

Fuelled and ready for our first ride together, we’ll start as we mean to go on, and set off to ride one of our favourite trails in the area.Fast, flowing and packed with berms, it’s the perfect trail to warm up our legs ready for the week ahead.

Once we’ve had our fill, we’ll load bikes and make our way to Whistler and our lodge where we’ll be based for the week, so you can really make yourselves at home.

We’ll have time to freshen up, then this evening we’ll head into town to have dinner and a few beers in one of the many great local restaurants.

Distance: app. 15-20km (app. 3 hours)
Accommodation: Mountain Lodge, Creekside

+Day 2 - Whistler Valley

After a hearty breakfast at one of our favourite spots, we’ll set off from our lodge to discover our first taste of the technical climbs and tricky descents in the area, as well as that beautiful, flowing singletrack that we all love so much!

You’ll weave through forests of cedar, down short ladder bridges, and roll over rocks. No matter what you like to ride, there’s something for everyone today as we take on some classic Whister rides like Zappa Trails, Cut Yer Bars, River Runs Through It and Danimal.

At the end of the day we can drop into the heart of Whistler village and enjoy some delicious pastries from the local bakery, before heading back via a short singletrack and an evening around town. Time permitting, why not make the most of the pool and hot tub at the lodge to loosen the muscles before tomorrow’s ride?

Distance: app. 25km (app. 7 hours)
Accommodation: Mountain Lodge, Creekside
Meals included: Breakfast

+Day 3 - Whistler Bike Park

As all of our other rides are in the rural wilds of BC, today is your chance to see what the Bike Park is all about. We’ve got a day of park rides planned for you with trails that you’ll never forget, and having been recently extended, some of them start right from our doorstep!

On the chairlift our legs get a breather from the climbs so they’re ready to pump, sprint and launch you down some of the fastest, most flowing trails you are ever likely to find. You’ll be astounded at how hard you can work on these descents, but you’ll not want them to end.

After sampling the best of the Bike Park, we will set off to tackle the Top of the World Trail*, one of the trails that makes up the CrankWorx EWS enduro route. This lures us from high in the alpine, through imposing cedar forests, before finally spitting us out at the Whistler Brewing Company for a celebratory beer tasting session!

With so many routes to choose from your guides will link up the best connections for you and the group.

*Please note: Top of the World Trail will be open from mid July onwards and is weather dependant.
Distance: Rider choice
Accommodation: Mountain Lodge, Creekside
Meals included: Breakfast

+Day 4 - Pemberton Classics

Today we are heading north from Whistler and make our way to the small farming community of Pemberton. This is not your usual farming town as it is surrounded by big mountains and, luckily for us, has incredible singletrack in all directions.

With expert local trail knowledge your guides will customise a ride that will climb up to amazing views across to Mount Currie that looms over the valley, then link to beautiful trails that will take us back down for lunch.

After we’re suitably refuelled what else would we do but go and track down some more fantastic trails? We’ll ride until it’s time to stop playing and head back to Whistler for another delicious meal.

Distance: app. 30km (app. 7 hours)
Accommodation: Mountain Lodge, Creekside
Meals included: Breakfast

+Day 5 - Whistler North

With a constantly growing network of trails in Whistler we’ll set off after breakfast to explore some of the newer gems at the further reaches of town.

New trails pop up each season, and as your guides work with the local trail associations, they will be excited to showcase some of the latest trails which they may have even had a hand in building!

This area is home to beautiful granite rock rolls, lush forest with lichen hanging from the trees and lots of challenges on the trail to navigate along the way.

We’ll have had another big day today, and so it’s the perfect time to make use of the hot tub back at our lodge before we head out for another fantastic meal in the town.
Distance: app. 30km (app. 7 hours)
Accommodation: Mountain Lodge, Creekside
Meals included: Breakfast

+Day 6 - Squamish Secrets

After breakfast, today we’re heading over to Squamish to spend the full day here sampling the best of the area. Our drive along the “Sea to Sky” highway is home to some of the most luscious and flowing trails you’ve ever ridden and your guide also happens to know some hidden gems!

Bright green moss lines the edge of the trails and hangs from the trees as you rip through this ethereal coastal rainforest with its endless hero dirt.

With a full day of riding in Squamish leaving your legs and cheek muscles aching, we will finish up in your guide’s favourite dinner spot for a big meal and cold drinks, before making the journey back to our mountain lodge and some relaxing!

Distance: app. 25km (app. 6 hours)
Accommodation: Mountain Lodge, Creekside
Meals included: Breakfast

+Day 7 - Guide's Epic Link-Up

This is your final day of riding in Whistler, and we’ve got a beauty of a day in store!

This will be a big link-up for a full day on the trails in Pemberton, Whistler or Squamish depending on what’s riding best.

We’ll have time to get cleaned and dressed up to enjoy our final celebratory meal together in Whistler Village and toast an unforgettable week of mountain biking in British Columbia where, in a short time, you’ll have ticked off all the wish list boxes in this biking mecca.

Distance: app. 30km (app. 7 hours)
Accommodation: Mountain Lodge, Creekside
Meals included: Breakfast + Dinner

+Day 8 - Departure

Sadly, today we pack our bikes, say our farewells and return you to Vancouver airport for around 1pm to catch your flight home.

Meals included: Breakfast

Amazing Adventure

What an amazing adventure! Allie and Lizzie were absolutely amazing. They had every aspect of this trip nailed down. From the transportation, accommodations to the food and of course the trails. They are both very clearly experts in this field. I have been asked many times “would you do it again?” If possible I would do this trip every year! Thank you for a great time!

 by Peter
Great Time

Ali and Lizzie were excellent guides. The biking destinations were all fantastic and they catered really well for the different fitness and ability levels in the group. The accommodation was first-rate and the logistics of the travel were superb. So pleased to have ticked this off the bucket list; highly recommended.

Outstanding

Great guiding, presented by Ali and Lizzie who presented some amazing. trails; from slabs to loam and technical single track we got it all. We had nothing think about, other than riding bikes which is testament to the level organisation that goes on in the background.

Even when a mechanical threatened to derail the trip they went above and beyond to get me back on the road!

Trip of a lifetime

This my 1st trip w/ H+I, it exceeded all expectations, it truly was a trip of a lifetime!

Both Ali and Lizzie were incredible guides, so passionate, so knowledgeable, accommodating and a ton of fun! 5 STARS ALL THE WAY!!!

Dream BC Trip

I've been on many H + I trips in the past, this one by far has the best trails that pushed me to the limit everyday. As a local living in the province next door I am very glad that I chose this trip as I would never be able to get all the local favourite trails in a week trip!

Both Ali and Lizzie were both excellent guides and kept the riding interesting for everyone to make the most out of the trip.

Other H+I trips may have better views and food, but in terms of the actual mountain biking this trip is the best!

Hard to beat

As a seasoned H&I customer I am happily able to compare my recent BC trip with several others; Chile, New Zealand and Scotland, each of which have been fantastic experiences . It’s hard however, to beat BC. The landscape is so vast, the mountain biking so embedded in the local communities it truly makes for a special holiday. Our guides were fizzing with enthusiasm and good humour as they showed us their local trails. We were minded without being cossetted and encouraged to choose our own adventure over the 7 days. There were challenges both up and down even for the most seasoned of us but every day finished with us grinning ear to ear.

I’m back a week now and am still buzzing. Couldn’t recommend it highly enough.

Outstanding

There is no doubt that BC has everything any MTB rider wants in terms of the enormous variety of terrain and trails, with spectacular scenery and welcoming communities. Any doubts I harboured were around the ability of the guides to tailor a trip to the needs of a mixed group and bring the chemistry necessary to get the group to come together in an environment where individual days can be tough, both going up and coming down.

Lizzie and Ali were superb guides and made an enormous contribution to our collective enjoyment of the trip. They catered to the needs of the more experienced and fitter riders just as much as those less experienced. The technical instruction when requested was excellent and I believe each of us progressed meaningfully in the week.

H+I did a very good job of the logistics in a newly opened BC post COVID lockdown 2021. The different locations, restaurants and hotels immersed us in the local culture and BC way of life.

Most of our party hired bikes locally which worked really well. One person had an issue with their bike in the bike park and a replacement was waiting on arrival back down into Whistler Village.

Overall this was an outstanding trip, don't hesitate.

Faultless BC adventure

I had an amazing time and couldn’t fault the tour or the guides. The chosen trails, logistics, accommodation, meals and guides were fantastic. The itinerary for each day was just right and Ali and Lizzie did a superb job with the group making sure everybody got the most out of the days and everybody on the tour was comfortable and well looked after.

Just thought I’d let you know how much we enjoyed it and felt that both Ali and Lizzie deserved recognition for the great job they did and how well they represented H + I.

BC trip Sep 19

Wow what an experience! Ali and Lizzie took such great care of our group, both in terms of showing us the best trails the region has to offer and in playing tour guide and sharing their knowledge of the area's we were in. Like most on our trip I wish I had done a bit more training leading in but those tough climbs made the fun downs worth it!

Great to ride some of the trails we had all heard and read about and if you had said to me before the trip that I'd be looking forward to riding the next black run I would have laughed, but as we all grew in confidence during the week we were able to make the most of the opportunity we had to hit some of the best tracks around. Thanks to Ali, Lizzie and the H+I team for an experience to remember

BC *****

This area of BC is truly amazing with some of the best trails in the world not to mention the Bike Park which is off the scale!

Pre comms from H+I have been fantastic but the biggest shout out must go to Ali and Lizzi our guides who were truly outstanding from start to finish. Their welcoming, flexible and relaxed approach mixed with their ability and clear depth of knowledge of the trails and the area made the trip!

They bent over backwards for us all week, clearly explaining every step and flexing the trails and the approach to meet everyone’s needs which made for a happy team and riding that challenged us all!

Thank you to everyone and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend H+I and this trip to anyone!

Cheers guys!

Dream Holiday

I've had BC in my head as my dream holiday for about 10 years now, and this year I decided was time to make it happen! I have watched all the videos of BC possible and felt like I had ridden some pretty amazing trails since I've started mountain biking - So I had very high expectations!

Absolutely loved the holiday and Ali (who was amazing the whole time) showed us not only fantastic trails but great places to eat too! The descent on the final day was some of the best descending trail I have ever ridden... and it lasted for 40 minutes!! This is the tour for you if you want to get a snapshot of each of the different riding zones, as there is so much more to the area than just the bike park (even if I did stay there until it closed!) . It truly was something you couldn't just put together on trailforks and I'm so glad I did it this way.

The organisation was perfect, I didn't have to think about anything but enjoying myself, and how hard to pull the brakes, for the entire holiday. The little cottage for the first two nights was something special! But I wasn't complaining when we got a swimming pool in the hotel at the bottom of the chairlift either!

Thank you so much H+I!!! Quote for the week "Super Marvelous!!"

 by Mike
Marvelous BC

Have you seen those amazing MTB videos on Youtube? Riders flying through the woods, descending down some steep slab rocks, endless curvy singletracks… They were most probably filmed right here, in BC Canada. You can surely recognize names like Squamish, Pemberton, Whistler…On this trip you can ride on the same trails yourself and ticking one off the bucket list!

This was my third trip with H+I. This time again, you are well taken care of from the moment you book the trip. It is your holiday and you don’t want to bother about any practical things. With H+I you just enjoy what you love, ride your bike. And what a riding it was!!! This trip picks up the best areas North of Vancouver. Seven days of different kinds of trails. No pain no gain… In order to ride down the mountain you need to climb it first. This trip is graded as “advanced” and that it is too. Both physically and technically. We had a smaller group with skills and will to go even further. Thanks to our guide, we were able taste some “Advanced ++” trails too! Ali was our guide and host for the week. Very professional and nice guy. A very skilled rider that was able to make me a better rider too. The knowledge of trails was amazing. We were always updated on what to expect on the coming trails.

I have so many good memories from this trip: really nice group, good accommodations, dinners, trails, sceneries…etc. I fell in love with BC.

What a trip!!! Truly marvelous!

Amazing Trip

Just want to say a massive thank you to everyone at H+I for a fantastic trip. The whole experience was amazing, memories I will keep forever.

I feel kind of lucky that it was such a small group because it just felt like a group of mates going out for a ride on their bikes. It felt like we had all known each other for years, friends I will definitely keep in touch with and we couldn’t of had a better guide. Ali was great, down to earth, good banter and a damn good rider. Unfortunately I only got to ride 3 days of the trip due to hurting my ribs the week before and Ali always took this into consideration knowing that I could only take so much punishment and that I was so grateful for.

The accommodation was spot on too. The little cottage was amazing, what a quirky little spot, it was lovely and the hotel is perfect. What a way to finish off the trip with a bear passing by the hotel steps just feet away from us on our last day. Marvelous!!

Be Challenged in Beautiful BC

This was a fantastic week of challenging mountain bike riding in British Columbia. Ali and Lizzie were fantastic guides who were able to look after everyone in our group on the rides as well as taking us to great eateries. This is an advanced trip which will challenge your fitness and skills. Ali and Lizzie were careful to find our goals and provide suitable challenges and provide great coaching if you want it.

BC has amazing trails and scenery. The accommodation was great. The organisation and level of care was superb. Highly recommended. Do plenty of training on single trail.

Amazing week!

A truly brilliant week of riding in a simply stunning location with superb, friendly and enthusiastic guides. Ali + Lizzie put on an amazing week of riding and hospitality for us, simply couldn't have asked for more. Their advice along with the progression of the week has really improved my riding and my confidence to tackle bigger terrain, which we're simply not used to here in the UK.

A very good level of fitness is definitely recommended to get the most out of this tour, don't underestimate that if you're considering it, which you absolutely should if you want a week of riding like nowhere else in the world. This is a proper mountain bike tour though.

Highly recommended. Thanks H+I for a wicked week!

Best of BC Trip June 2019

Just back from a great week of riding over in British Columbia - still buzzin from the quality of the riding and a big thank you to Ali and Lizzie (our guides for the week) who were both awesome on and off the bikes all week!

Definitely keen to get back to BC soon!

My only feedback would be to replace the Sunshine Coast riding with even more riding in the zones on the sea to sky corridor - save a bit of time travelling and the riding in Squamish, Whistler and Pemberton is vast enough to fill the 2 days - could even look to do day 1 on the North Shore!

BC 07/09-16/09

I had the great pleasure of riding on trails that I never imagined riding, well-chosen and varied trails, beautiful views, and I could not tell you about the professionalism of both Greg and Austin. I intend to return one day and always indicate this great company.

Everything perfect! Thanks for everything!

Thanks Bc Team

It was perfect , Greg and Austin are very nice professionals and nice people! Indiscreadable tracks!

I hope to be with them again next year!

The best week Riding

It was a wonderful experience in every way. We were made very welcome by Austin our first guide and by Greg who took over the group on the third day.

The selection of the trails were very well done and the guides managed to fit another trail on the last day that was the most beautiful of all.

The group as a whole worked well, all the indications were perfect and all the requests were carefully analyzed and always presented a solution.

During the week I improved my bike performance following the positioning indications suggested by the guides.

I just have to thank and I really want to go back to riding a bike on these and other trails in the region.

 by Jussi
Best idea ever!

Booking this trip with H+I Adventures to BC must have been one of my best ideas ever. Every single day out on the trails was awesome.

Our guides must have been the best ones. Not a dull moment all week.

I will definitely try to come back.

Thanks H+I / Jussi

Simply the best riding experience!

This trip re-defined what technical riding means for us. Greg and Shaun were awesome at ramping up the difficulty while keeping the group safe. We have ridden wide range of terrain before including the Alps, Scotland, etc., but this was truly special.

The guides were also great at giving skills tips to build confidence without breaking the flow. We started with technical flowy forest trails in Sunshine Coast, progressing on to even more technical "rock-rolls" and steep rooty terrain in Whistler, Squamish and Pemberton. It was incredible how much progress the whole group made in just 1 week.

Off-the-bike the trip was also perfectly organised including great food and accommodation. The guides were fun to be around, went out for dinner with the group every night, and kept everyone entertained throughout the holiday.

This is a must-do trip if you love mountain biking.

Mountain Biking At Its Best

If you love mountain biking then this is a must do trip. From gnarly technical sections to fast flowing berms or just stunning woodland single track, this trip has it all. The guides Steve, Matt and Shaun were fantastic hosts, guides and mentors, and H&I once again got everything organised perfectly. Did I mention the float plane to the Chilcotins or the bike park? My advice - just book it.

Exceeds all expectations

Although having ridden alpine area before, this trip simply exceeded everything imaginable for a "flatlander" like me. It started with super-prompt responses and service from H&I and continued in Whistler. From the nice and cozy chalet to the trails, scenery and bike-scene, everything was beyond my expectations. Nothing was too much asked for, from quick out-of-business-hours shop services to a double "courtesy ride" by the guides when I just hadn't have enough fun yet. These guys just love riding, and they show it during every bit of the tour! But beware, Whistler is contagious!

Epic Whistler !

"Epic" is the only word that comes close to describing this tour! Fantastic group of people and brilliant guides - Shaun and Paul were not just guides, they were pretty much full time hosts and I wholeheartedly agree with Stu and Brigitte in that they 'made' the tour. The Whistler experience is a 'must do' for any serious Mountain Biker. My first experience with an extremely impressive H&I team.....one of many more to come 🙂

Simply Awesome!

What can I say?... This trip was simply awesome!... imagine your usual sunday ride with everything turned up to 11 and you'll be nowehere near what you get in Whistler! If you are after a dream riding trip this is it. The guides Shaun and Paul made the tour and truly showed us the best of what Whistler and the surrounding area had to offer. With a combination of mind blowing scenery, loamy alpine trails, epic heli drops and pumping days in the park there is something for everyone. With the high standard of ridng being matched equally by the high standard of accommodation and hosting you couldn't ask for anything more... my advice book now!

Another perfect trip with H&I

I had a wonderful week with a really very nice group (thanks for waiting guys!), comfortable accommodation, challenging trails, wonderful views and good food. Shaun and Paul were fantastic guides, friendly, skilled, patient and flexible - and of course the pre-trip support from Euan and Catherine always is just amazing.
