“I learned to ride from a young age in the Netherlands and never quite got the gist of the cautions my dad would throw at me. Where’s the fun if you can’t go through puddles or bounce off obstacles?
I’ve called Te Wai Pounamu – the South Island of New Zealand – home for 35 years now and I’m still as eager as that little boy wanting to explore. And this island packs a lot of punch!
There’s gravel roads traversing backcountry over saddles, down valleys, kissing lakes, sometimes disappearing in a bog with nothing to do but hike-a-bike until you can get going again. There are local trails, bike parks, and awesome multi day adventure rides that I’d love to share with you. I make a pretty good brew too, and make the time to enjoy it.
I live on the West Coast together with a few other hardy souls, off the grid in a place built with my own hands that i enjoy sharing. Come and check it out!”
