Planning your adventure

We understand that Covid-19 has changed the travel landscape, but we’re here to help you plan your next adventure – safely and with confidence

Planning your next adventure: we’re here to help

Planning your next mountain bike adventure may feel like a more daunting proposition than before, but don’t worry, we’re here to help. As you begin to research and plan for your mountain bike tour we want to reassure you that we, as MTB and E-MTB tour experts, have your health and wellbeing at the forefront of everything we do.

Working closely with our excellent local guide teams in each destination, and following guidance from the World Health Organisation, Centre for Disease Control, Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and all relevant government advice, we can ensure that we have the most up-to-date information for each country to help you navigate through the process of booking your adventure with more confidence.

Our global view means that we can assist you in finding the most direct route to your destination, avoiding unnecessary layovers and potential travel restrictions, and we can help you change your plans at short notice, if necessary, by tapping into our international network.

Travel with confidence: your safety first

The health and safety of our riders is our highest priority and for the past five years we have been working with Global Rescue to provide you with emergency medical and evacuation support on tour.

Global Rescue has recognised H+I Adventures as a Safe Travel Partner for their commitment to participants’ health, safety and security during all trips”

Should you feel unwell or have an injury whilst on tour with us we can call on the expertise of Global Rescue to offer advice on anything from an upset stomach, to initiating helicopter evacuation to the nearest hospital.

No other mountain bike tour operator offers this service but we believe in going above-and-beyond so you have absolute peace-of-mind in knowing your health and safety are in the best hands.

Of course, in delivering your adventure we will be following the national Covid guidelines in place in each individual country, but we have also altered our tour operations to include increased hygiene and social distancing practices in order to minimise the risk of infection whilst you are travelling with us. In all destinations this includes, but is not limited to, new procedures for:

  • Mandatory self-assessment prior to travel
  • Requirement not to travel should you pose a risk of infection
  • In-country vehicle travel
  • Disinfection of vehicles and other equipment
  • On-trail behaviour including bike handling and first aid delivery
  • Personal hygiene practices
  • Guide self-assessment
  • Dealing with the potential Covid symptoms on tour

Book with confidence: your money protected

When you book your mountain bike or e-mountain bike tour with H+I Adventures you can be sure that your money is secure.

H+I Adventures is bonded by ABTOT (The Association of Bonded Travel Organisers Trust Limited), which means that when you book with us you can be sure that your money is 100% protected, in the unlikely event of our insolvency.

If your trip has to be cancelled, you will be offered: free date changes, the option to convert your booking to credit, or a full refund.

Purchasing comprehensive travel insurance for your tour is essential in covering you for any unforeseen circumstances that might happen prior to or during your adventure and, now more than ever, we recommend adding a ‘Cancel For Any Reason’ clause to your insurance package, which must be done within 14 – 21 days of booking your tour. Forbes has compiled and rated a list of travel insurance companies based on their Covid-19 cover, which is a good place to start your insurance search.

Finally, when you book your trip with us you have the option to pay in GBP, EUR or USD, it’s up to you to choose which best suits you.

Travel with friends + family: private group tours

If you’d like to travel and spend precious time with your favourite people, we can organise a private trip for you and your friends/ family. This could be on one of our advertised itineraries and dates, or we can work with you to craft a bespoke adventure in any one of our worldwide destinations. Just contact us to discuss your requirements.

We have always run small-group mountain bike tours, with no more than 12 riders per group, and more usually a maximum of 8. So, if you decide to join one of our scheduled MTB or E-MTB adventures you can rest assured that your guides will have plenty of time to devote to each rider and, more-often-than-not, you’ll make friends for life.
