Our new mountain biking holiday in Spain is the ultimate circumnavigation of the Sierra Nevada!

It’s been hard work: riding superb Spanish trails; eating jamón, chorizo, luscious tomatoes, and freshly-baked bread; drinking smooth local wines; and sampling the best accommodation in Andalucía, but we’ve struggled through to bring you this unbelievable new mountain bike holiday in Spain. You’re welcome.

This is the ultimate in Spanish adventure experiences. You’ll circumnavigate the Sierra Nevada: on high altitude trails through remote whitewashed villages; down fast, technical singletrack to the coast; then finish with some old-school street riding through the alleys and stone steps of the old town in Granada. You’ll be enveloped in the Andalucían way of life, which revolves around spending time with friends and family, sharing good food, wine and stories – and you will certainly have plenty of stories to tell from this holiday!

Other highlights of this week-long mountain biking holiday in Spain include: staying in traditional farm stay and luxury cave accommodation; stopping in Trevelez, the highest town on mainland Spain, to sample the finest jamón direct from the makers; descending from dry mountain plains to the shores of the Alboran sea, looking out to Africa; and topping off your week at the Hammam (Arab baths) in Granada to soothe your weary muscles, before hitting the town on a celebratory tapas tour!

Your local mountain bike guide in Spain, Javier, is an expert in all things Andalucían and will share his vast, in-depth knowledge of the local culture, history, cuisine and people of this beautiful part of southern Spain that he calls home. He speaks English, Spanish, German and even Arabic – such is his interest in and dedication to the heritage of Andalucía! And, of course, he’ll show you the best singletracks and ancient gems of trails that this area has to offer.
