“I’m probably not the only one who disputes the claim that mountain biking started in the hills of California, but the real truth is that it began in the early ‘80s in the woods behind my house, a stripped down red shopping bike with the fattest tyres I could fit through the frame. There began my life long love affair with bikes, now I am still excited by bikes, as your local mountain bike guide here in Scotland.
“I cycle toured all over the place when I was younger; 3 years, 50,000km. Me, my bike, my tent. I was into my 30’s when I discovered XC racing, and had my fair share of decent results, even some National Champs jerseys. I now bike tour with the family and, in between kelp farming and trail maintenance, I like to escape to the hills whenever I can. This is my playground, let me show you the toys!”
